Heavy rains lash north Maharashtra; 6 killed

Heavy rains, accompanied by thunderstorm, lashed Jalgaon and Dhule districts in North Maharashtra leading to death of six persons and causing damage of several houses, reports reaching at divisional headquarters here said Friday.

Four rivers - Nagziri, Ratnavati, Titur and Dongri - are in spate due to the downpour over the last couple of days, they said.
Five persons, including a woman and two children, were
killed yesterday in Raver, Jalgaon district, in separate cases
of house collapse triggered by incessant showers, the reports
said.

A 60-year old woman died when a house caved in at
Rohane, Dhule district. Two children, Juned Shaikh (10) and
Alish Bagwan (9), residents of Chalisgaon, Jalgaon district,
were washed away in flood waters and their fate is not yet
known, they said.
The Nashik city also experienced heavy rains early
today, briefly disrupting normal life. Some Ganesh pandals
(canopied tents) were reportedly damaged in rains.
