Mumbai: Heavy rains continued to lash different parts of the city on Saturday resulting in waterlogging in several suburban areas.
According to civic officials many areas like Hindmata, Kurla, Andheri, Malad, Ghatkopar and Vikhroli witnessed water logging due to continuous rains since last night.
Road and air traffic largely remained unaffected and there were no reports of building collapse in the metropolis, they said.
However, there were minor disruptions in train services and locals were plying late by 10-15 minutes.
Met officials said Colaba received 52.2 mm of rainfall and Santacruz recorded 59.7 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours beginning from 8.30 am yesterday.
The department has predicted frequent spells of rains in some parts of the city and suburbs while heavy rains are forecasted in some areas over the next 24 hours.
