Sangli: Describing himself as a
"ruffian" Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said
that one needs to be "tough" to achieve something in politics.

"Nothing can be achieved in politics unless you are a
ruffian. Politics is a tough game; nothing can be achieved in
politics unless you are a toughie. I am a ruffian," Pawar said
here.

Pawar was recently speaking in Tasgaon in the `Amrit
Mahotsav` function of Urban Co-operative Bank in the presence
of Home Minister RR Patil and Rural Development Minister
Jayant Patil and other senior party leaders.

The NCP leader came under serious flak recently for his
alleged remarks against journalists.
