Mumbai: The Mumbai Police on Wednesday morning arrested the man who was caught on camera allegedly masturbating at an American woman in broad daylight in Colaba.
"Gopal Valmiki, who is in his late 20s, was apprehended by police in early morning hours," said Colaba police station senior inspector Vinay Gadgil.
Maryanna Abdo claimed on Twitter that Gopal Valmiki masturbated at her when she was taking a morning walk in the area, and ran away when confronted.
A newspaper report claimed that Valmiki, who works as trainee share trader at Bombay Stock Exchange, told police following his arrest that he was not masturbating at the American national and was just peeing when she looked at him.

The American national had managed to capture Valmiki's photo and tweeted it immediately, catching the Maharashtra Chief Minister's Office attention.
Police had yesterday recorded the woman's statement and registered an FIR.
The accused has been booked under Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult modesty of a woman) of the IPC, Gadgil said.
Here is what Abdo had tweeted:
