Mumbai: The Joint Commissioner of Police Kanhaiya Kumar on Sunday said that the claims made JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar's friend have not been found true.

“Whatever has been alleged by his (Kanhaiya Kumar) friend, in our inquiry we've found it not to be true,” said Deven Bharti, Joint Commissioner of Police.

On the action taken by police in this regard, Bharti said, “Kanhaiya has not lodged any complaint despite request from senior inspector.”

The JNU leader had earlier in the day alleged that a BJP supporter tried to strangulate him in Jet Airways flight.

He also said that the Jet Airways staff refused to take any action against the man who assaulted him.
