Maharashtra Government has sought a waiver of the Rs 10 crore bill sent by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) towards expenses for guarding Ajmal Kasab, the Pakistani gunman caught during the 26/11 terror attack and now sentenced to death.

Home department officials said the ITBP letter asking the state government to foot the bill had been forwarded to the Centre.

"We have urged the Centre to waive the amount," officials said.
