The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Monday condoled the death of innocent persons in the triple blasts that rocked the city on July 13.

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Monday condoled the death of innocent persons in the triple blasts that rocked the city on July 13.

Assembly members observed a two minute silence as a mark of respect for the victims.

The blasts at Opera House, Zaveri Bazaar and Dadar killed 24 persons and injured over 130 others.

Leader of the Opposition Eknath Khadse`s demand of taking up the condolence motion, setting aside the Question Hour, was accepted by Speaker Dilip Walse Patil.

Khadse said that people of the city stood united and rose to the occasion to help the needy.

He urged the government to take steps to ensure that the victims and survivors get monetary as well as other assistance.
