Maha officials working under pressure of NCP leade

Government officers in Maharashtra are working under the pressure of the Nationalist Congress Party leaders, Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Admi Party alleged.

Beed: Government officers in Maharashtra are working under the pressure of the Nationalist Congress Party leaders, Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Admi Party alleged here on Friday.

"Officials are working under the pressure of NCP leaders," AAP leader Anjali Damania said here at a press conference.

Earlier this week, Beed Collector Sunil Kendrekar was asked not to join back until further orders, allegedly at the behest of local NCP leaders. This led to widespread protests.

NCP had yesterday justified the action against Kendrekar. NCP spokesman Nawab Malik had said that despite Beed being a drought hit district, the collector had given a wrong report about the crop yield in 600 villages of four talukas.

Damania said that Kendrekar would be resuming today as per the information received from the Chief Minister`s Office, but if it did not happen, a PIL would be filed before Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court.

She alleged that land mafia were enjoying a free run in Marathwada region of Maharashtra.

She also alleged that relatives of a minister had grabbed five acres of land belonging to the forest department in Jalna district for an institution, and the district collector was transferred when he took exception.
