Mumbai: A 29-year-old man, hailing from
Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for allegedly possessing
firearms brought here to sell, Maharashtra Anti Terrorism
Squad (ATS) officials said on Friday.
Acting on a tip off, they laid a trap at Shivaji Nagar
area in suburban Govandi when Mohammed Hussain Halwai arrived
there with weapons yesterday, the officials said.
Two pistols, three revolvers, two magazines and 12
live cartridges were recovered from him, they added.
The accused, who is a driver by profession, brought
the weapons to sell here, they said adding he had visited the
city earlier also.
