New Delhi: The Maharashtra government has reportedly deferred the expansion of the Cabinet after differences over the names of ministers on Sunday.
The name of Amit Deshmukh, son of former Maharashtra Chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, for one of the three vacancies presently in the Cabinet.
The speculations started after the visit of Maharashtra Chief Minister, Prithviraj Chavan, to the national capital to meet Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.
The list was expected to be declared by today evening.
NCP leader Jitendra Awhad was sworn-in as minister in the Prithviraj Chavan government last month after the expulsion of NCP`s Vijaykumar Gavit.
The reshuffling in the Cabinet is taking place after the party`s disastrous performance in the recent Lok Sabha polls.
Chavan took the complete responsibility of the poll debacle after the party could manage to win only two out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
