Mumbai: Maharashtra Textiles and Minorities minister Mohammed Arif Naseem Khan on Monday said he will donate his one month`s salary -- Rs 57,000 -- for the drought relief.
The state govt was doing everything possible to help people in affected areas, he said.
Home Minister R R Patil had earlier donated his one month`s salary to the Chief Minister`s relief fund.
Patil had also appealed to the Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, other fellow ministers, industrialists and citizens to donate money for the drought relief.
In response, Chavan today said, "We will look into it." He also said that state government had sought inspection of rabi crop loss by a Central team.
"After review of the loss, we will seek central funds for rabi crop," he added.
The Centre last month released Rs 778 crore for the drought relief.
Chavan had two days ago said that this year`s drought in Maharashtra was worse than the one the state had experienced in 1972, because water shortage was acute in many parts.
