Maharashtra Governor discharged from hospital

Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan, who underwent an arterial surgery to remove a clot in his left carotid artery, was discharged from the Bombay Hospital on Sunday.

Dr B K Goyal, honorary dean and chief cardiologist of Bombay Hospital attending on him accompanied the Governor to Raj Bhavan.

Sankaranarayanan, who is also holding additional charge of Governor of Goa, was admitted to Bombay Hospital on January 10 following a spell of giddiness.

After detailed investigation, a clot with narrowing was discovered in his left carotid artery, which was corrected by an arterial surgery. Dr Sudhanshu Bhattacharya operated upon the Governor, a Raj Bhavan release said.
