Maharashtra govt to pay Rs 1 crore to MSRTC for transporting prisoners

The Maharashtra government has decided to pay the state road transport corporation Rs 1.01 crore as charges for transporting jail staff and prisoners between 2006-07 and 2013-14.



Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has decided to pay the state road transport corporation Rs 1.01 crore as charges for transporting jail staff and prisoners between 2006-07 and 2013-14.

The payment is part of the Rs 3.08 crore, the state owes to Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), towards transportation cost, a government resolution said.

The then vice chairman and managing director of MSRTC had written to the government in 2013 in this regard, it said.
