Maharashtra MLC threatens self-immolation

Thane: An MLC, representing the teachers’ constituency from Konkan, has threatened self-immolation, demanding implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations for the teaching and non-teaching staff of the civic-run secondary schools.

MLC Ramnath Mothe has threatened to immolate himself in front of the office of the Principal Secretary of School Education, demanding implementation over the next fifteen days, he would immolate himself in fornt of the office of the Principal Secretary of the school education.

He has pointed out that all, except those in the secondary schools of the civic bodies, were denied this benefit.

"When all the state government employees, the teaching and non-teaching staff of the government schools are getting the benefit, why only those working in the secondary civic school boards are denied it?," he asked.
