Nagpur: Maharashtra minister of state for social justice Rajkumar Badole has sought a detailed report from authorities after an aided school for the mentally retarded children in Butibori area found closed on a working day.
During his surprise visit to the school, located in the industrial area, yesterday, Badole found that its gates were locked.
It was also brought to the minister's notice it was a residential school and neither teachers nor the inmates are seen on its premises for quite some time.
Badole, who hails from neighbouring Bhandara district, then asked the officials concerned of his department and that of education department to find out the factual position and submit a detailed report to him.
In his visit to a school being run by Matra Sewa Sangh in Sitabuldi in South East part of city, the minister found that attendance was good and teachers were also present.
