Maharashtra: Unidentified people stab youth to death, mob ransacks hospital

A 28-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed to death by some unidentified people over a minor altercation following which an irate mob ransacked a hospital during which a top cop was injured, police said on Monday.

Nashik: A 28-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed to death by some unidentified people over a minor altercation following which an irate mob ransacked a hospital during which a top cop was injured, police said on Monday.

Shailesh Sase was yesterday stabbed to death at Sathe square near general post officer in the city, Bhadrakali police station inspector Madhukar Kad said.

Last night, in protest against the incident an irate mob ransacked the Nashik civil hospital. They also attacked police using brickbats in which Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravindra Wadekar was injured, Kad said.

Wadekar has been admitted in a private hospital, the officer said.

A case under Section 302 (murder), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) has been registered against unidentified persons in the connection, police said, adding efforts are on to search the accused.
