Mumbai: Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan
on Wednesday assured that Maharashtra Housing and Area Development
Authority is capable of redeveloping sector-5 of Dharavi slums
in Mumbai and said decision on the redevelopment of the
remaining sectors has not been taken yet.
"MHADA is capable of redevelopment of one of the sectors
of Dharavi...it would redevelop sector-5," Chavan said in the
state Legislative Council today.
However, the government is still undecided as to how the
remaining four sectors would be redeveloped.
