Mumbai: After calling on Marathi youth to
give a shot to railway recruitment examination, Maharashtra
Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists today took a truck full of
applications to the railway authorities for submission.
"We submitted 1.38 lakh applications to the railway
authorities today," said Atul Sarpotdar, President of
Maharashtra Navnirman Railway Sena (MNRS).
Alleged sidelining of Marathi youth in the railway and
other government recruitment has been MNS's chief agitation
plank.
Party chief Raj Thackeray had initiated a drive earlier
this month, appealing Marathi youth to appear for the railway
exam. The party even distributed a handbook on how to apply,
alongwith some seven lakh application forms.
Not wanting to be left behind, Shiv Sena too announced
that it would organise coaching for railway examination.
Western and Central railway have sought applications for
over 10,000 posts.
