Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok
Chavan today said to take compensation from MNS activists who
had gone on rampage in various multiplexes in the city last
week demanding prime time slot for Marathi movies.

"No one would be allowed to take law in hands and the
MNS activists have to pay for any damages to the property
during the agitation," Chavan told reporters here.

The MNS activists pelted the multiplexes with stones
in protest for not screening Marathi movies last week after
the party chief Raj Thackeray warned the multiplexes on the
issue.

Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said the
Government already have a policy for the multiplexes for
compulsory screening of Marathi movies. The concessions to the
multiplexes were given on that basis, he added.

The department concerned would check if it is
implemented. Even the owners of the multiplexes can approach
to the Government for any problem over screening the movies,
Bhujbal said.
