Mumbai: Encouraging local youths to sit for
railway examinations, the MNS on Wednesday released a handbook
guiding Marathi job seekers to increase their presence in the
At a state executive meeting of Maharashtra Navnirman
Sena here, its president Raj Thackeray distributed copies of
the handbook to party activists, to be circulated among
railway job aspirants in the state.
"We fight to get priority for the sons of soil in
railway recruitment. But our youth are not much aware about
the recruitment process," Thackeray said.
He advised locals to appear for railway examinations and
increase the number of Maharashtrians in the public sector
In 2008, MNS activists had assaulted north Indian
candidates appearing for the railway recruitment test in
neighbouring Kalyan, opposing "outsiders" taking the test.
The handbook contains information on how to fill up the
form, where to submit it, the documents that have to be
attached and necessary qualifications for a particular post.
