MPCC President urges verification of footage before December 8

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Manikrao Thakre on Monday urged legislative council Chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh to verify video footage of the Congress' protest in the Vidhan Bhavan on November 12 before winter session begins on December 8.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Manikrao Thakre on Monday urged legislative council Chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh to verify video footage of the Congress' protest in the Vidhan Bhavan on November 12 before winter session begins on December 8.

Thakre appealed that the meeting to verify the video footage be called before December 8, so that Congress MLAs who were suspended on the charge of allegedly manhandling Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao would get justice.

Thakre, who is a member of the legislative council, wrote to Deshmukh saying that on November 12, he had assured that he would go through the video footage to verify the BJP-led Maharashtra government's charge that Congress MLAs had allegedly manhandled Governor Rao when he came to deliver his first address to a joint sitting of the Maharashtra state legislature.
