Mumbai: A special MCOCA court here on Friday
rejected the bail pleas of two alleged members of Indian
Mujahideen, which has been held responsible for carrying out
several blasts in the country since 2006.
Dastagir Feroz Mujawar and Aatik Ahmed, arrested in
September 2008, had sought bail on the grounds that they are
not involved in the conspiracy and that they cannot be charged
under the stringent provisions of MCOCA as there were no two
previous charge sheets filed against them.
The duo, along with 19 other arrested people, have
been accused of sending e-mails to various media organisations
minutes before the 2008 serial blasts in Delhi and Bangalore
intimating them about the attacks.

According to the prosecution, the group was also
involved in carrying out blasts in other cities like
Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Surat.

Special MCOCA Judge R G Avachat while rejecting the
bail plea observed that the offences are of serious nature.
