Mumbai: In two separate cases, city police`s
Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) arrested four drug peddlers,
including a woman, and seized ganja and charas collectively
valued at Rs 9.40 lakh this week.
Acting on a tip-off, a trap was set at Gaikwad Nagar in
suburban Malad on Wednesday, and ANC officials found Noorjaha
Akhtar Ali (40) moving suspiciously in the locality.
Three kg of charas worth Rs 2.40 lakh was found in her
possession when she was frisked, police said. She was arrested
under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
In the second operation, the ANC officials intercepted a
Bolero jeep at suburban Chunabhatti area on Monday. Search of
the vehicle led to discovery of 70 kg of ganja.
Sunil Mohite (23), Ambadas Pawar (25) and Mangesh
Honawale (47) were arrested. Investigations were on to trace
the buyers of the contraband, police said.
