Mumbai: With only 50 per cent of desilting
of city`s nullahs completed, Mayor Shraddha Jadhav has asked
civil contractors to step up and ensure that the work is
completed before the monsoon.
"In eastern suburbs, only 50 per cent of nalla safai work
is over till now. As monsoon is not too far away, authorities
must buck up. We would ensure that the desilting work of
nullahs is over at the earliest," Jadhav said.
The Mayor along with civic officials today inspected
ongoing desilting work at many places including Mahul creek,
Nehru Nagar nalla (Kurla), Mithi river (Kurla), Boundary Nagar
(Mulund-Thane), Nalepada nalla (Mulund), Laxmi Baug
(Ghatkopar).
