Nashik: Thousands of Muslims offered mass prayer at the Idgah Maidan (golf ground) and exchanged greetings to each other on the occasion of Eid, being celebrated on Monday.
A traditional sweet dish 'sheer kurma' was distributed to each other on the occasion.
Mayor Yatin Wagh, Deputy Mayor Satish Kulkarni, political leaders, corporators and prominent citizens also greeted Muslim brothers on the occasion.
In the power loom town of Malegaon, Muslims also offered mass prayers at different mosques.
Police made elaborate security arrangements at different places as a precautionary measure.
