Nagpur: Naxals Thursday shot dead a State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) jawan in Maharashtra`s Gadchiroli district, police said.
RR Pande (50) of the SRPF group IV, Nagpur, was on escort duty and accompanying an ailing colleague to local health centre at Fulbodi Gatta village in Dhanora tehsil when a group of the ultras opened fired at him from the distance killing him on the spot.
Pande was declared brought dead at hospital, police said, adding further investigations are on.
