Mumbai: The Nationalist Congress Party
(NCP) has drawn attention of Air India CMD Arvind Jadhav to
the reports about fatigued pilots operating Air India flights,
saying it was concerned over the issue.
"It is shocking to learn through newspaper reports
that the pilots employed by Air India are operating flights in
fatigued condition and are not getting enough rest as per the
stipulated international standards," NCP state spokesperson
Mahesh Tapase said in a letter to Jadhav.
"This whole episode seems to be putting the air
traveler in grave risk of life, thereby also raising doubts
about the safety and service standards of the national
carrier," he said.
Tapase pointed out that "Despite such facts being
reported in newspapers, there seems to be no denial or
clarification from Air India on the above mentioned issue."
"In the interest of the safety of air travelers,
clarification of the above doubts through media will highly be
appreciated, failing which, this issue will be taken up at the
appropriate level," Tapase said.
