Mumbai: Over a month after his arrest,
the Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted bail to suspended NCP MLA
Dilip Wagh who is accused of raping a 20-year-old girl.

Wagh, along with his personal secretary Mahesh Mali,
is accused of raping a girl at the government guest house
in Nashik on February 21 after calling her there on the
pretext of providing a job.

The victim filed a case against the duo four days
after the alleged incident. Acting on her complaint, both Wagh
and Mali were arrested on February 26 and booked over charges
of rape and criminal intimidation.

A Nashik lower court had earlier rejected the bail
petition of the two following which Wagh approached the High
Court.

Justice RC Chavan of the Bombay High Court today
accepted Wagh`s plea and granted him bail on a surety of Rs
50,000 after observing that his custody is not required
further.
