‘NCP, Shiv Sena preventing me from campaigning’

Miffed at being denied permission to hold rally at Shivaji Park, Raj Thackeray alleged that NCP, Shiv Sena were preventing him from campaigning.

Mumbai: Miffed at being denied permission to
hold election rally at Shivaji Park in central Mumbai, MNS
chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday alleged that "best friends" NCP and
Shiv Sena were preventing him from campaigning.

"NCP and Shiv Sena, who are best friends, are indulging
in politics to prevent me from campaigning," Raj told
reporters here.

When asked how he plans to hold rallies in Mumbai, the
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief said he would hit the roads
soon to canvass for his candidates.

Hitting out at the government especially Home Minister R
R Patil of the NCP, Raj said the state government allowed Shiv
Sena to hold Dassera rally at Shivaji Park "but was not
allowing me to hold an election rally".

The court recently disallowed MNS from holding an
election rally at Shivaji Park based on communication received
from the state government as the area is marked as `silence
zone`.
