NCP youth wing to hold anti-toll protest on March 24 in Maharashtra

Sharad Pawar-led NCP's youth wing will hold a statewide protest against toll payment in Maharashtra on March 24, and has appealed people not to pay toll anywhere in the state.

Mumbai: Sharad Pawar-led NCP's youth wing will hold a statewide protest against toll payment in Maharashtra on March 24, and has appealed people not to pay toll anywhere in the state.

"Our activists will shut toll nakas in the state on March 24. We will ask people not to pay toll," NCP youth wing Umesh Patil told reporters at Vidhan Bhawan here on Friday.

"Be it Nitin Gadkari or Devendra Fadnavis, they had promised to make Maharashtra toll-free. In reality, they have not taken any step to do so. There is no point giving excuses," he said.

"They should have studied the matter while making the assurance. If they can't make the state toll-free, they should apologise to people. Or else, we will hold anti-toll protest," Patil added.
