Mumbai: Bringing a major relief to citizens
travelling on potholed roads, Maharashtra government has
decided to waive toll tax considering repeated complaints
about poor conditions of the roads.

"A cabinet committee on infrastructure has taken the
decision to waive toll tax from roads with potholes,"
Home Minister R R Patil said today.

Despite the poor conditions of highways during monsoon
season, heavy toll was being levied on vehicles by
contractors. The decision followed complaints received from
citizens about bad roads, an official from Public Works
Department said.
