Nagpur: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said here on Monday that any bureaucrat, who has served under a minister of the previous government, would not be allowed to serve as a minister in the new government for the next 5 years.

"If any bureaucrat had been serving under any minister in the previous regime as a Private secretary, Personal assistant or an officer on special duty, they will not be allowed to serve any minister in the government for the next five years," Fadnavis said.

He said that any officer, who was already serving a minister before the Government Resolution was issued last week, would be shifted to his parent department at the earliest.

"There are a couple of such officers currently serving in the CMO office, who have even served in the previous government. These officers will be shifted as soon as the winter session of the Assembly gets over," an official from the Chief Minister's office said.
