One more held in Ramnarayan Gupta fake encounter case
Police today arrested an alleged former member of Chhota Rajan gang in connection with the fake encounter of Ramnarayan Gupta, a suspected member of the same gang.

former member of Chhota Rajan gang in connection with the fake
encounter of Ramnarayan Gupta, a suspected member of the same
Janya Seth, former member of the Rajan gang, was held
from outside the Bombay High Court in south Mumbai after his
anticipatory bail was rejected by the court, Deputy Police
Commissioner (DCP) K Prasanna said.
"He played a prominent role in the alleged fake encounter
of Ramnarayan," he said refusing to divulge further details.
Police so far have arrested 11 accused including
`encounter specialist` Pradeep Sharma, senior PI Pradeep
Suryavanshi in the case.
Ramnarayan alias Lakhan Bhaiyya was allegedly shot dead
in a `staged` encounter by police team headed by Sharma on
November 11, 2006, in suburban Versova.
Later, Ramnarayan`s advocate brother Ramprasad had
approached the Bombay High Court claiming that his brother was
murdered in the staged encounter, following which the Special
Investigation Team headed by DCP Prasanna was formed to probe
In April, police filed a chargesheet against Sharma and
20 others in the alleged fake encounter case.
