recruiting 16,958 Police Constables and bandsmen and has
invited applications online to bring transparency in the
recruitment process.

Home Minister RR Patil said a new website
"mahapoliceonline.org" has been created to facilitate the
online process.
As many as 1,000 online application centres will be
setup in all talukas, he said.

Applications from candidates from the age of 18 to 25
who are minimum 12th standard pass will be processed online
taking a fee of Rs 100 each.

"Applications will be verified and the candidates will
be called for physical fitness test. If a candidate gets 50
per cent marks out of 100, he will be called for written
test," the Minister said.

Advertisement for the recruitment process will be done
from September 17 to 26 and the applications will be accepted
from September 26 onwards. The recruitment will be conducted
in 59 police units, Patil added.
