Mumbai: The Mumbai Police, on Friday, seized
over 2200 drums of crude oil from two different places in the
ongoing raids in the back drop of the murder of Additional
Collector Yeshwant Sonawane.
In the first instance, the Crime branch seized 1434 drums
of crude oil being adulterated during a raid in suburban Kurla
and arrested one person in connection with the case.
"A person identified as Mohammed Gafoor has been
arrested in connection with the case", a police official said
adding that four to five more persons are still at large.
Police said that they suspect the role of an
inter-state gang in the adulteration of oil.
In the second incident, the police seized 800 drums of
crude oil being used for adulteration purpose after they
raided seven godowns at suburban Vakola.
"We have seized 800 drums from the place and identified
