President Pratibha Patil will inaugurate the centenary celebrations of English daily, `The Hitavada` on February 6 at the Yeshwant Stadium.

Nagpur: President Pratibha Patil will
inaugurate the centenary celebrations of English daily, `The
Hitavada` on February 6 at the Yeshwant Stadium here.

Maharashtra Governor K Shankarnayaranan along with three
Chief Ministers, Prithviraj Chavan (Maharashtra), Shivraj
Singh Chavan (Madhya Pradesh) and Raman Singh (Chhattisgarh)
will be present on the occasion, the Managing Editor of the
daily Banwarilal Purohit, told reporters here today.

Shankarnarayanan will release a coffee table book `The
Front Page` which traces the 100-year journey of the daily. An
exhibition of historic issues of the daily has also been
organised and Patil, who is the chief guest, would visit it
before the main function, he said.

The exhibition will be kept open for public from February
6-8 at the stadium, the former MP said.

Union Minister for Social Justice, Mukul Wasnik and BJP
national president Nitin Gadkari, eminent educationist Dr Devi
Singh Shekhawat and former Union Minister Vidya Charan Shukla
will also be present on the occasion, Purohit added.
