New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday pulled up former Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh for interfering in the enforcement of law to regulate private money lending in the state.

"The chief minister has no business to interfere with the functioning of the 1946 act regulating money lending in the state," the apex court bench of Justices GS Singhvi and AK Ganguly said in their judgement.

Dismissing the state's appeal, the court enforced a cost of Rs 10 lakh on the state government. The money will be deposited with the Maharashtra State Legal Service Authority to help poor litigants.

The former chief minister invited the apex court reprimand for preventing the administration and police from acting on the complaint of farmers against a relative of a Congress legislator Dilip Kumar Sananda, who was engaged in money lending activities.

Mr Vilashrao Deshmukh is the blue eye baby of Congress president. When he was CHEAT minister his only business was to increase the FSI , make money and send to Delhi so Congress can fight election. Due to his total failure during Mumbai attack he had to resign due to immense public pressure. Again he was taken back into cabinet. Person who is loyal to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi should never suffer, let country go to hell.

Today what I read has shaken me to the core. He protected the money lender who use to charge 10% interest, Monthly! That is 120 % per year. He also got two honest police person for NOT FAILING IN their duty. If they had obeyed like other higher ups then they too would have got flats for their ADARSH behavior.

Super court has done marvelous job, but why Government has to pay fine. It is our money isn’t it?

There is no point in calling our former chief ministers a BASTARD, why insult the BASTARD?
