New Delhi: The new Maharashtra Government
should provide a transparent administration with a development
agenda, NCP chief Sharad Pawar told Deputy Chief Minister-designate Ajit Pawar Thursday.
The message to Ajit Pawar came when he met the
Agriculture Minister here, a day after getting elected as
leader of the NCP Legislature Party.
The meeting which was also attended by senior party
leader Praful Patel and Maharashtra NCP unit chief Madhukarrao
Pichad deliberated on the ministers to be included in the

Pawar said he asked Ajit to have a cohesive
relationship with major ally Congress.
Chief Minister-designate Prithviraj Chavan had also met the NCP chief yesterday.
"My priority is to give a transparent administration,"
Chavan had said yesterday as he prepared to take the place of
Ashok Chavan, who was forced to resign as Chief Minister
following the Adarsh scam.
Interacting with reporters here, Ajit Pawar dismissed
reports that senior party leader Chhagan Bhujbal was sulking
after being forced to step down from the post of Deputy Chief
Asked whether Bhujbal would be given the crucial Home
portfolio, Pawar said no such decision has been taken and
allocation of ministries would be done in consultation with
the NCP supremo.
