Pune blasts `a planned act`; cops register FIR Zeenews Bureau

Pune: A day after low-intensity explosions rocked Pune on Wednesday night, the police on Thursday registered an FIR in the case against unknown.

Police have registered an offence against “unknown persons” under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 427 (mischief causing damage), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and relevant sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and Explosive Substances Act.

The Pune crime branch will investigate the attacks.

Also, the man who got injured in one of the blasts, who was thought to be the main suspect, has been given a clean chit by the police, reports claimed.

A local tailor, Dayanand Patil, was injured in the blast at Balgandharva Theatre. He is a local and had accidentally picked up the bag out of curiosity, opened it and got injured. He was discharged from Sasoon Hospital today morning but was taken into custody by the Pune Crime Branch for further questioning. Patil’s wife has also been called to the police station in connection with the probe.

In the meantime, the Centre today described the attacks in the Maharashtra’s cultural capital as a planned and coordinated act.

Union Home Secretary RK Singh said forensic experts were examining the two unexploded IEDs and nature of the four blasts.

"Since the blasts have taken place within an area of 500 metres and within a span of 45 minutes, it appears to be a coordinated act. I am sure there was a plan behind it," he told reporters here.

Singh said teams of National Investigation Agency, National Security Guards and Central Forensic Science Laboratory reached Pune early this morning and were examining the explosives.

"They have examined two IEDs which had not exploded. There are three detonators in each and other peculiarity. Investigation is on. We are making progress," he said.

Newly-appointed Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, meanwhile, said that a National Investigation Agency team is in Pune to investigate Pune blasts.

Shinde, who has a huge task at hand as the blast occurred on the day he took over as India’s home minister, said that the officials and investigators have taken Pune blasts very seriously.

He, however, added that the blasts were not a terror attack.

These blasts could not be ignored just because they were of low intensity. It could be a prelude to a major attack planned by the culprits.

Investigation needs to be done by people of Independent mind ,non corrupt, non political, and having necessary skills better than the official agencies ,they should get first access to evidence and should have a heart commited to interests for the life of the Citizens ,who are considered as a mere fodder only for Political games of the concerned. The Master minds are never revealed or punished by the system.Even the proved guilty are not hanged for some or the other shameless escapist reason and logic.

NIA should assess the facts behind blast after change of minister of that department taking care of security of the country. When Mumbai attack happened during Shivaraj Patil was Homeminister of this country and belongs to Maharastra and now person from same state becomes Homeminister and serial blast tookplace in Pune city belongs to Maharastra state. In this angle also our security and intellegency agencies works to get major and critical information. Recently Thakeracy openly said that state is become breed to terrorism as person who detained in connection with Mumbai blast from Maharastra state. Need to examine the incident in comprehensive in order to plug the loopholes that has been taken advantage by perpetrators who always wants to create an unrest kind of situation in India to divert its focus from progress and growth to concentrate on providing security to pulic places and implement stringent controls to public offices and people to lead their life under fear and frighten condition. Country need to adopt Isreal and other developed countries adopted militatants conspiracy and cover attack to demolish before ution. This incident posing challenges to new minister and asking him to take appropriate preventive and corrective actions.

Two to three important things, was it a low intensity blast because the blast could not be triggered to its potential? And/or, was this a trial for large scale terrorism in public places like these? Intelligence people will have a lot of work to do. New Home Minister, Paki declaration of 26/11 commission as null and void, Anna Hazare angle (to prove that some disgruntled citizen may have performed this as there was some Congress programme going in Bal Gangadhar Theatre or a political gimmick to dislodge Anna Hazare movement). I just hope the security forces nab the offenders before it gets too late.

Krishnakanth is correct in some points. The government want to avert the attention from Anna hazare agitations. We can easily suspect whether this blast and the power grid failure happened a couple of days ago is planned by the center itself.
