Quintuplets born in Maharashtra, none survive

Amravati: In a rare case, a 22-year-old
woman gave birth to five babies at the district hospital here
but none of them survived, doctors attending on her said on Tuesday.

Sunita Manish Bhumbar, who was six months pregnant,
delivered the quintuplets in a span of three hours yesterday
morning, after she went into labour, said Dr A R Salunke,
In-charge Medical Superintendent of District Women`s Hospital
here.
But all the babies--three male and two females-- died
within a few minutes of their birth as they were premature, he
said.
Sunita is however, doing fine, Dr Ashwini Khokale, who
oversaw her delivery, said.
