Rains continue to lash Nashik, water level increases in dams

Nashik: Heavy rains continued to lash Nashik
and adjoining areas on the third consecutive day today
increasing water levels in various dams here.

Peint recorded 117 mm of rain on Sunday, while Igatpuri,
Trimbakeshwar, Surgana and Nashik recorded 97, 100, 62 and 32
mm rainfall respectively, official sources said today.

Water levels in Gangapur and Darna dams increased to 1916
mcft and 4,313 mcft respectively auguring well for Kharif
crops in the district.

Farmers have so far completed 85 per cent of sowing and
continuous rains have provided much relief to them, sources
