Mumbai: MNS chief Raj Thackeray on Monday got a
good luck wish for Mumbai Municipal Council elections from his
party workers who presented him a cake in the shape of the
civic body building on his 43rd birthday.

MNS activists today gifted their leader the cake in the
shape of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) building
with the party flag atop, keeping an eye on Mumbai Municipal
Council polls scheduled next year.

"We want MNS to win the BMC elections and wish that
maximum corporators of our party get elected," Ameya Khopkar,
president of Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Sena which got
the cake prepared, said.

Followers in large number visited Raj`s residence at
Shivaji Park in central Mumbai to wish him on his birthday.
The MNS leader, in his usual white attire, thanked them all.

Three ambulances, an initiative by party leader Arvind
Gawde, and vehicles for serving food were inaugurated by Raj
on the occasion. MNS leaders Shishir Shinde, Bala Nandgaokar,
Ram Kadam were also present there.

Raj`s birthday was in controversy two years back when he
had cut a cake with `bhaiya` written on it. His anti-north
Indian campaign was in full swing then.
