Television personalities along with several other people held a rally here on Sunday, protesting against the release of Kannada actress Maria Susairaj and demanded justice for the murdered TV executive Neeraj Grover.

several other people held a rally here on Sunday, protesting
against the release of Kannada actress Maria Susairaj and
demanded justice for the murdered TV executive Neeraj Grover.
The rally was led by Grover`s friend and filmmaker Ashok
Pandit. Actor Raza Murad, television actress Jaya Bhattacharya
and actress-VJ Teejay Sidhu were among the several others who
participated in the rally.
The protest started from Dheeraj Solitaire building in
Malad where Grover was stabbed to death, and ended at Tulip
Star Hotel in Juhu.
"Earlier in the day, police had picked 15 protesters, as
they said the protesters did not have permission to hold the
rally. They were released after Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam
intervened in the matter. After talking to a senior police
officer, we were granted permission to hold the protest
rally," Pandit said.
A candle light vigil will be held in the evening at
Lokhandwala at 6 pm.
The 25-year-old TV executive was killed in the apartment
of Maria Susairaj by her fiance and former navy officer Emlie
Jerome. Grover`s body was hacked into several pieces and
dumped in Manor forest in adjoining Thane on May 7, 2008.
The Mumbai sessions court had awarded Maria three-year
imprisonment in the case, however, yesterday she was released
from a jail here as she has already spent the term behind the
