Savarkar`s son passes away

Vishwas Savarkar, son of revolutionary freedom fighter Swatantrayveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, passed away on Friday due to old age related ailments.

Mumbai: Vishwas Savarkar, son of revolutionary freedom fighter Swatantrayveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, passed away here on Friday due to old age related
ailments.

He was 83 and is survived by his wife and two daughters. Sources close to the family said Savarkar breathed his last at 11am this morning at his residence at Shivaji Park in
central Mumbai.
The author had pursued his demand with the government to grant heritage status to his residence `Savarkar Sadan`, where his controversial father lived. The government granted heritage status to the home last week.

He penned four books `Athavani Angarachya`, `Divabhintiche Pralap`, `Katha Krantiveeranchya`, `Paris Sparsh Swatantrayveerancha` and also wrote articles and columns in magazines and newspapers.
