Thane: A 12-year-old boy who was
reprimanded by his parents for bunking school, allegedly
committed suicide by hanging himself here, police said on Friday.
Suraj Sole, a resident of Ravnacha Pada, of Yeoor was
studying in a municipal school here in seventh grade.
His mother was a maid servant and father a labourer on
daily wages. Since the last few days he was not attending
school. The incident took place yesterday when his parents
while leaving for work, again asked him to go to school.
Annoyed, the boy hung himself from a tree outside his
house using a saree around 10 AM, police said.
The neighbours alerted the Vartak Nagar police who
rushed him to the Civil hospital here but was declared brought
dead on admission.
The police have registered a case of accidental death
and further investigations are on.
