Thane: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj
Thackeray said on Wednesday the issue of Uddhav Thackeray`s
appointment as Shiv Sena Executive President was raked up by
Bal Thackeray and he was merely reacting to it.

Raj`s remarks come amidst a war of words between the Sena
patriarch and him over Uddhav`s appointment to the top post in
2003.
During his Dussehra rally speech, the senior Thackeray
had said it was Raj who had chosen Uddhav for the post. He
also said a videotape of the conclave, where Uddhav was named
Working President, will be made public to prove Raj`s
falsehood.

Raj hit back, saying he was not even authorised to select
a shakha pramukh (branch chief), let alone the Executive
President.

The MNS leader was speaking at a press conference after
releasing his party`s manifesto for the October 31 election to
Kalyan-Dombivili Municipal Corporation (KDMC) here.

At the conference, Raj said, "even now I respect
Balasaheb, but nobody else."
On a query over likely spit of Marathi votes between the
Sena and MNS, Raj said he didn`t agree with such a suggestion.
"Take the example of Tamil Nadu. Do Tamil votes split due to
rivalry between AIADMK and DMK?"
