Mumbai: In the wake of protests over alleged derogatory references to warrior king Shivaji and Shiv Sena leader late Bal Thackeray on Facebook, party president Uddhav Thackeray today appealed to party workers to maintain peace.

"Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to me and assured me of action against those responsible for this," the Shiv Sena chief said.
Pictures of Shivaji Maharaj and late Bal Thackeray were morphed which led to reaction, Thackeray said in a statement.
"As of now, Sena workers should maintain restraint. There is an attempt to tarnish the image of the Modi government," he said.
