Mumbai: Shiv Sena, which has been vocal against Pakistan for "sponsoring" terrorism in India, is likely to take a decision on attending the swearing-in ceremony of India PM-elect Narendra Modi.
Though Shiv Sena remain mum on Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accepting the invite to attend the oath-taking ceremony, Party president Uddhav Thackarey will take a call later in the evening on Sunday if the Sena MPs will attend the ceremony tomorrow, as per report.
Earlier this week, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackarey had said the new government should adopt an aggressive "tit-for-tat" policy towards Pakistan.
Thackeray, who was in Delhi on Tuesday for a meeting of the NDA that chose Modi as its Parliamentary Party leader, had said India should teach Pakistan a "lesson" if it created trouble for the country.
Uddhav had also said there was no change in the position of his party that India should not have cricketing ties with Pakistan as long as attacks against the country continued.
Shiv Sena had in the past stopped Pakistani cricketers from playing in Mumbai, forcing the matches to be shifted to other cities. Sena has 18 members in the new Lok Sabha and aspires for a few ministerial berths in the Modi government.
