Six men harassing journalist`s wife in Mumbai caught on CCTV, arrested

The Mumbai Police have arrested six men on Tuesday who were found assaulting a couple at Sainath Market in Suburban Malad. They were caught under CCTV surveillance.

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police have arrested six men on Tuesday who were found assaulting a couple at Sainath Market in Suburban Malad. They were caught under CCTV surveillance. The journalist and his wife were in Sainath Market when a group of miscreants passed lewd remarks at her. When the husband objected to the remarks, the group resorted to violence and threatened the couple of dire consequences. However, the miscreants were unaware of CCTV installed in the market from where the police got the footage of the entire incident. As per the police, the accused were wearing knucle-dusters and have been arrested. All six have been booked under Sections 354 (assaulting woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 324 (causing hurt by dangerous weapons), 506 (criminal intimidation) among others.
