Mumbai: Four security personnel, including
two CRPF jawans, who were killed in a landmine blast in
Gadchiroli recently did not follow routine Standard Operating
Procedures, Home Minister R R Patil said on Wednesday.
"The security personnel did not follow the Standard
Operating Procedure like sanitising the area. They went to a
market where the bomb went off," Patil, who is also the
Guardian Minister of the district, said.
However, the Home Minister claimed that the number of
Naxal attacks in the state have reduced this year. Last year,
52 security personnel had died in separate Naxal attacks and
ambushes.

The issue was also figured in a cabinet meeting held
here today.

Four cops and a civilian were killed in a landmine
blast triggered by naxals at Perimili in Gadchiroli district
on Monday.
